Very nice and helpful people. Had a problem with my boat motor went there they help you figure out what it wasn't sold me the parts so I can fix it myself.
I was in town on a fishing trip when a wheel bearing had gone out on my boat trailer. This was on a weekday, early afternoon. When going to this marina for help, I was told "sorry we only have one machanic and he is going on vacation next week so we cant help you. He has to get another job done by then" . Being they couldnt help me with a simple wheel bearing I had no choice but to try driving home. Long story short, my wheel flew off going down the highway and that is where I had to leave my boat with $1,000's of dollars of fishing equipment in it. Thank you for the horrible service! Who wants to buy a boat from a "dealer" who wont help out people when in need.
Took my large "big water boat" inland to get serviced by this Marina based on a recommendation from friends. I had called and gotta price when I made the appointment. Then, Unfortunately I missed the appointment. I called and they were able to get me in the very next day. I dropped it off and told them some basics about the boat and who I later found out was the owner of the business told me that there are some things that they don't do because they are not familiar with all of the systems of larger boats dealing with pumping out waste water, winterizing showers and drain etc. I Was very shocked when I went to pick up the boat later and found the bill to be over twice as what I was told on the phone by a young sounding man. The gal that presented me with a bill was not of any help in explaining the $512 price. I explained to her the price that I was given over the phone when I made the appointment I told them that it was a twin engine and was given the price of $230 and she said but you have to engine it's twice that. I left and hooked up my boat to the truck and sat and read the bill . I just couldn't let that go so I went back in and The gentleman I spoke to in the morning was there and I asked him if he happened to be the owner he said he , so I asked if I could speak to him in private and we walked into a side office. He explained that he didn't realize I was still outside and at the gal had communicated my dissatisfaction with the price. Then it began, the education. He went into great detail of what they did to my boat including removing the lower units to grease and inspect the u-joints and drive components, replacing water separator filters and more. He went on to explain that this is what he has done for winterization for all of his time in business. Which explains why Viking came so highly recommended. Unfortunately, it had not been accurately explained to me what all I should expect by my acquaintances who recommended, the male salesperson who I spoke to on the phone, the female sales associate or the bill it's self. I am glad they took the lowers off!! And it was darned well worth the money! I am so glad that I went back in and received that education. Because if I hadn't I most assuredly would not be going back next year. The owner handeld me perfectly which explains why he and his crew are so successful. I can't recommend Viking Marine enough and plan on taking all of my future business there......if they will have me!?!?
